I guess Im not a fan of listening to how many useless points these guys get I guess. My fear is people playing Terminator:Salvation for the easy points/trophies instead if an original awesome game like Demon's soul!

With achievements I'm not really bothered about the points/score but the challenge some of them represent is something I really enjoy. I think Crackdown is one of the best example., It had some really inventive achievements the encouraged you to go out of your way and experiement with the sandbox of the game.

TJ - I think of achievement scores more in terms of ranges. If I get a friend invite from someone that has less than 6K, that tells me something about their experience (if not necessarily their skill). Also, if they have something between 6K and maybe 25K, that's a range comparable to me. Above that, then it's probably someone more serious about gaming.

This is definitely not a definitive kind of ranking, but the gamer score can be a quick shorthand for someone's level of interest.

I'm still having a hard time figuring out how to measure trophies. I feel like my achievement score more accurately represents my gaming interest than my trophies do, if only because almost every 360 game I've played is represented, whereas most of the PS3 games actually aren't.

Ultimately, though, you're right, the browser history is more informative than either of them. They just both serve as quick assessments.

This podcast was probably the most achievement talked podcast I've ever heard. I enjoy achievements/trophies but they are pretty much useless.
