This week’s 4 Guys 1UP is a departure from the normal format and contains no game discussion. Instead, the whole podcast is devoted to the history of 1UP, from it’s inception up until now.
While the group shares many personal here, it is not all just reminiscing about the old days. Sam gets pretty in-depth on some technical issues involved in getting the site off the ground, and what it has taken to continue improving and expanding on the site. When it came to naming the site, “1UP” almost didn’t make it.
There are a lot of interesting bits in this one, but only those who are really into 1up or website origin stories need apply.
Covered topics: Gamers.com and EGM, naming 1UP, launch days, myspace style with blogs, video and resources
With the holiday season upon us we change things up a bit. Sam Kennedy, Jeremy Parish, and Matt Leone join David Ellis to take a look back at the history of 1UP, from it’s early days to this year.

Very, very good episode. These guys are great. Kennedy's and Ellis' voices can be a little similar at times if they're talking right after each other. 4 Guys 1UP has been good so far, but this episode has straight up been one of the best for years. I guess it's a recap for people that have been with 1UP for a long time, but it's nice to hear about 1UP's creation even if you've been visiting since '04 or '05. Great episode for people who've just recently found 1UP and like the crew.
More Sam Kennedy, please.
