Game Scoop starts off this week with some Left 4 Dead 2 stories and it seems like everyone in the office has been enjoying the game. Next up is the wholly unimpressive Tony Hawk Ride, which Hilary found easier when using his hands to wield the skateboard controller rather than placing it underfoot.
The guys discuss the end of the holiday game release season, with slim pickings until Christmas including The Saboteur and Avatar: The Game. Greg and Daemon both seem a bit put off by the art style of Avatar, comparing the alien Na’vi to smurfs. Talk about The Saboteur segues into the sad news of Pandemic’s closing.
The show closes out with Greg Miller at center stage, featuring one of his classic rants and a reader-written poem dedicated to his image.
Covered games and topics: Left 4 Dead 2, Tony Hawk Ride, The Saboteur, Avatar: The Game, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, No More Heroes 2, AdHoc Party, Peggle PSN, Canterbury Tales, Gamestop rant
Welcome to Game Scoop!, your one stop shop for everything that went down this week in IGN world. It’s Daemon Hatfield, Greg Miller, Charles Onyett, and Hilary Goldstein on board this episode. A heaping scoop of videogame news is about to be dumped in your lap. Ready?
Activision has delivered the biggest game of the year: Tony Hawk Ride! We’ve been playing it. Or trying to, anyway.
Sony is considering a premium PSN subcription service. Right now the service is free — but you get what you pay for.
Kane & Lynch are back. We just hope they’re bringing a certain Playboy model with them.
Plus, we answer a bunch of listener mail about the Canterbury Tales, surround sound headphones, and what we look for in the ladies. Don’t forget, we’re available on iTunes, along with episodes of Game Scoop! TV. Remember to rate the shows while you’re there.
