Last week’s podcast was 1 of the longest ones yet, and this week we deliver the shortest 1 yet. The replacement for Good Grief, The Oddcast, starts the podcast discussions this week. Tina and crew had a great “first” episode and it is worth checking out. We also discuss the trend in podcasts starting to attempt monetization through iPhone apps.
A quick Modern Warfare 2 discussion kicks-off the games section. Unlike others who weren’t happy about the situation surround the PC version, Jon is is still standing his ground. Brief discussions about the October NPDs and Natal rumors lead into a comparatively lengthy segment about the arrival of Zune HD games in the Zune Marketplace. Erik actually decided to pick 1 up after we recorded and he says, “The games look absolutely gorgeous.” Look for more in-depth impressions next week.
Jon fills us in on the week’s big releases in movies, and the podcast finishes with a rather awkward situation involving me forgetting how to end the show.
Covered topics: The Oddcast, GWJ iPhone app, Modern Warfare 2, NPDs, Natal rumors, Zune HD games, The Box, The Men Who Stare at Goats, new commenting system

I'm really curious about what people think about these iPhone apps associated with podcasts, especially with the announcement (made after we recorded the podcast) that the Player One Podcast will have an app similar to the proposed Gamers With Jobs app.
Both of them seem to have been all but commanded to make an app, with little to no hard plans as to what the future of the app would hold (the nebulous "additional content"). What would you guys want from a podcast-associated iPhone app?
still enjoying the podcast! keep it up, guys.
I dont know what you have planned, but will you do a "podcast of the year " poll? And maybe a Castmedium Podcast talking about the nominees and stuff? Would be cool…
Balex – Not a bad idea, though I'd probably just cheat and stuff the ballot for Giantbomb or Idle Thumbs.
Three days into the Zune HD, and I'm still a fan. However, I really miss have a physical interface so I can quickly pause the music or adjust the volume just by feel. Otherwise, operationally, it's working out just fine; and the UI is kind of awesome.
I'll talk about it a little more on next week's show, though I don't know if I've got much to add from the reviews right now.
