Giant BombcastAs it turns out, Vinny’s assignment last week was actually getting married (Congrats Vinny!). Not surprisingly, the game playing talk is largely taken up by Modern Warfare 2 this week with Jeff and Brad both spending large amounts of time on it after the latter found the game early in Chinatown. Ryan also gets in his recommendation in for Rabbids Go Home and Vinny shares an anecdote about stepping off a plane with his new wife and immediately going home to try and play Dragon Age: Origins.

News this week kicks off with the unfortunate news of massive layoffs hitting multiple EA studios with more to come. Among some other scattered Modern Warfare 2 news, the group discusses reports coming out of Germany about Ubisoft demanding a good review score for Assassin’s Creed 2 before they would send out a review copy.

New releases and emails close out the show as usual with more laughs over the Tekken storyline.

Covered games and topics: Modern Warfare 2, Rabbids, Dragon Age, EA, Assassin’s Creed 2, Tekken, firmware

Brad has fun in Chinatown, Jeff flashes his firmware, Ryan gets Rabbid, Vinny returns a changed man, and we all talk a lot of Modern Warfare 2 in this week’s edition of the Giant Bombcast.

Runtime – 1:54:01

I will never cease to be amazed at the lengths Jeff goes to for his gaming. Having Brad send him a copy of MW2 that cost $65 just to ship, only to get it a couple days earlier is crazy. He has to be the most dedicated game journalist/lover in the industry.

While Jeff is legendary in the industry for his dedication to gaming, I thought that had more to do with the fact he wanted to guarantee he would have a copy in time to get the review up. Wasn't he talking about how they sometimes get games at 4:00 on Saturday for a Monday review?

Then again, this is also a guy that spends a couple hundred on the DJ Hero: Renegade edition even though he already owns the game. So…yeah, he's a little crazy.
