/Filmcast Ep. 75 – The Box
10:41 pm
November 11th, 2009
The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trailer gets some talk here, with the first impression being: “it looks expensive”. Devindra doesn’t seem to understand what British accents or Jake Gyllenhaal have to do with Persia, but Adam rebuts by saying that the film channels the video game in visual style.
Richard Kelly’s The Box is the subject of this week’s movie review and the general opinions are positive. Devindra credits the cinematography and Dave backs the soundtrack, which adds up to a pretty immersive atmosphere. Dave seems put off by some of the supernatural elements, but Adam thinks that the breaks from reality actually kept him wrapped up in the experience.
Covered movies and topics: Matt Singer from IFC, The Grand, Sliding Doors, A Christmas Carol, Mad Men Finale, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Movie Trailer, Sony has acquired the rights to Risk boardgame and aliens in Battleship?, Avatar’s Budget Approaches $500 million, Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours To Have An Hour of No Dialogue, The Box
