Steve Butts is in San Francisco this week, so he is in studio with Jeff and guest, Mark Bozon, to discuss the juggernaut that is Modern Warfare 2. There have been a lot of issues flying around the PC release, and none of them are missed here, but the guys seem surprisingly okay with the situation. Mark also spends some time discussing why he gave the PC version the same score of 9.5 as the console versions.
Steve has been playing League of Legends and while the verdict on the actual game is good, the community surrounding the game almost ruins his experience. He explains that the followers of the DoTA genre are not the most open or accepting of new players. This is a rather large problem since the whole gameplay mechanic is based on team multiplayer games.
Star Trek Online gets some time as the 3rd and final game covered this week. Jeff had a chance to have to quality time with it recently so he is sharing his thoughts. It sounds like it’s somewhere in-between appealing to Star Trek fans and MMO fans, and isn’t quite successful at either.
Get ready for another installment of Command Prompt, IGN’s weekly PC dedicated podcast to the latest in the world of PC gaming. Steve and Jeff are joined by Mark Bozon, who sits in the studio to talk about his review of Modern Warfare 2 and the controversy surrounding Infinity Ward’s latest game. Steve follows the deep discussion with another look at League of Legends and its harsher community members. Jeff rounds out the discussion with analysis of Star Trek Online and some of the newer features for the upcoming MMO. We even squeeze in a few questions at the end.
