It’s the last episode of Good Grief. With its erratic schedule, it’s not too surprising.
After the downer of the issues surrounding Modern Warfare 2, the group moves onto Tom Morello and his explosion onto the gaming scene with some leaked Halo Reach screens. Sam shares some thoughts about thee PS3 implementation of Netflix and it seems to work fine. Tina is enjoying Ratchet & Clank, which Sharkey somehow deems bottom-of-the-barrel for game mechanics.
In recession gaming, the group is talking about Miami Shark, a game that allows you to bite a 747 out of the sky. Awesome.
Things close with the group again announcing that this is the last episode of Good Grief. With a group like this it is hard to tell what’s true and what isn’t, but they say that this is the end.
Covered games and topics: MW2, Tom Morello, PS3 Netflix, blogs, Borderlands, Ratchet & Clank, Miami Shark, WTF moment, bye GG?
It’s over! In our last episode, we discuss the latest on Modern Warfare 2, Sharkey gives us shit about his indie game based on a shark, Sam has a weird love for everything Sonic, and we say goodbye.

Damn it. I liked this podcast. Tina was always so lively and funny, Sharkey was amusingly snarky and Chris and Sam were good sports too. Shite.
It was a good show. It gave Sharkey a platform where he could fully express himself. Chris was great. The highlight for me was Sam. He’s great on podcasts, has a breadth of knowledge, and is always great to listen to. I hope they come around to their senses and make him a regular on 4 Guys 1UP. That’ll mean that they’ll have to rotate Parish and Scooter in and out, but Parish already does a podcast every week so that shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
The only dead weight was Tina, who seems to laugh at everything, insists on calling soccer football, and only plays first-person shooters. The latter point is fine, but it just got irritating when she insisted on striking down every other genre of game (and particularly games on the PlayStation 3, surprise surprise). What made it bearable was the constant hazing she got from the other three for it. How can anyone be negative against Uncharted 2? She never failed to astonish me every episode.
anyone can be negative about uncharted 2 just like anyone can be negative about any game. it’s sad that any slight against any major playstation 3 exclusive has to be construed as some ‘xbot’ fanboy attack, but i guess people shouldn’t be entitled to their opinions.
Heh. It’s funny, because I knew I should have elaborated on that point at the time, but end up doing so. My fault, I guess.
No, Sanchez more or less disparaged it without providing any reason why. Which is okay in itself – there are many people on many other podcasts that hate on games from any platform – not just the PlayStation 3 – for no apparent reason – it’s just that I always expect a higher quality of thinking and analysis from 1UP, and Sanchez was the kink in the armor in that respect.
It’s not wrong to say that critically Uncharted 2 is accepted as the better game over Gears of War 2, but here we have this anomaly. I mean, she tried to compare (quality-wise) the train section in Gears of War 2 to the train section in Uncharted 2, much to the amusement of the rest of the cast of the show. I’ll give credit to Sanchez for the fact that she never really attempted to hide the fact that she doesn’t like the PlayStation 3 and anything associated with it.
