Hello

I apologize if I have offended you on behalf of your colleague but I was really hoping for him to answer. Mr. Jon Cole had sent me snarky remarks my way like the above before and I (and I guess Matthew) felt the need to call him out since we both know he is an essential part of this site( which I personally enjoy very much) . I agree 100% about what you say about dragon age but that is beyond the point now. I treat people that I comment to with respect and the last thing I imagined was snotty answers from an administrator of the site.

Nice plug for your podcast by the way, I've only listened to 2 eps but I'll guess I'll never know about who owns what.

Thanks for answering though

Okay guys, I'm jumping in here. TJ and Matthew, you guys have some valid points, but that doesn't mean that Arthur's are not valid. These things are subjective, and there are opinions on both sides. And funnily enough, Jon didn't even state his opinion, he just provided links to opinions which were requested.

It sounds like the consensus is that the PS3 version has better textures and the 360 version has a better framerate. Depending on what is important to you, 1 may win-out over the other. We are not in the game of defending any one person's opinions, we are just in the game of people having the right to have an opinion. Everything is subjective, and you have a right to disagree, but that doesn't mean there is a right and wrong to the issue.

Oh, and the answer to who owns what systems is openly discussed in earlier <a href="http://www.castmedium.com/tag/castmedium-podcast/" rel="nofollow">CM Podcasts</a>, so search that out if it's important to you.

Here's hoping to a response from Mr.Jon Cole directed to our previous comments. May I ask Jon if you have a ps3 to begin with?

No, it's pretty definitive that the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age has better looking textures. They even mentioned it on the latest 4 Guys 1UP podcast. Yes, the frame rate on the PlayStation 3 suffers compared to the XBOX360 version, but it's obvious the TJ was referring to how the game looks aesthetically.

Seriously man, it's pretty obvious you've got a problem with TJ who in turn has a problem with Rebel FM. If you feel the need to defend Rebel FM which, frankly, nobody should, because their main podcast is essentially garbage, then that's fine. But you shouldn't go around being a jerk about it. Your tone is pretty reprehensible in your response to him here and in responses from previous threads. There's no need for it when all he (or she) is trying to do is bring up a legitimate point.

In your own website there's a podcast saying its better on Ps3 and looks better, please don't assume I can't use google Mr. Jon Cole because I've already read some of these reviews you posted. Gametrailers is the only one I'm not 100% sure of it's accuracy because of it's history in these comparisons. I'm amazed how you defend this guy but please do not put snarky remarks like your last sentence directed to me again because you are an administrator on this site and should act like one.

In both the IGN review and the IGN video review, Jeff Haynes says that the PS3 version of the game has more framerate hiccups than the 360 version:

http://ps3.ign.com/dor/objects/14290728/dragon-age/videos/dragonage_pc_vdr_100209.html
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/104/1041821p2.html

<blockquote>While I'd love to say that Dragon Age looks phenomenal, that isn't accurate on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The graphics aren't as crisp as they are on the PC, and character models can be rather hit or miss... Additionally, there are a number of framerate hitches, more so on the PS3 than the 360.</blockquote>

Furthermore, Gametrailers posted a comparison video and the PS3 framerate problems are abundant and obvious:

http://www.gametrailers.com/video/pc-ps3-360-comparison-dragon-age/58659

Double furthermore, a website that I've never heard of called PSX Extreme is clearly a Playstation-centric fansite and they go on to recognize the graphical issues:

It's amazing what Google can do for you.

I'm a big fan of Ballad of Gay Tony, but I think Tyler oversells it a little bit. If you didn't like the way the original GTA IV played, this game doesn't really fix it; but it does refine the gameplay pretty well and the missions are generally more manageable. And the BASE jumping is fun, but it's not great, so it's more of a distraction rather than a main feature.

However, what really makes the game for me is the relationship between the main character, Louis, and Gay Tony. Gus Mastrapa at Crispy Gamer wrote up a pretty good piece on it here: http://www.crispygamer.com/features/2009-11-05/the-ballad-of-gay-tony-who-is-the-man.aspx. It's a surprisingly mature relationship, and satisfying how it plays out.

Also, Ryan and Jeff at Giantbomb didn't like how you weren't playing the title character of the game, but I think that actually improves the storyline. In every other GTA, even though you're the lead personality, you're always taking missions from everyone else and serving their bidding; so it doesn't really matter that you're the main character. In this one, it makes a little more sense that as a right-hand-man you're the one getting things done.

Anyway, it's a good game, and I'm glad Tyler gives it some love...if maybe a little too much.
