The Totally Rad Show – Episode 137: Donames

November 3rd, 2009

The Totally Rad ShowGentlemen Broncos is first up in movies this week. This comes from Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess, and he seem to deliver some more quirky characters here. Jeff thoroughly enjoyed the film, but Dan found it to be somewhat disappointing. One thing everyone can agree on is that Jemaine Clement, of Flight of the Conchords fame, delivers an unforgettable performance.

There are a lot of games covered this week. Things start out with footage shot during a New Super Mario Bros.Wii event where the guys seemed to be enjoying the game. Forza 3 gets a lot of praise for its accessibility and overall presentation, but Dan gives the edge to Need for Speed Shift. Torchlight gets a luke-warm reception here from Alex, who found it to be simply boring. Jeff is loving the game though, and he does his best to argue its merits.

The guys did a 24 hour gaming marathon for charity last week and they have included some footage of the event here after the game segment.

We play New Super Mario Bros Wii together! Is Gentlemen Broncos the new Napoleon Dynamite? Does Forza 3 win the racing game race? A great game bargain in Torchlight. What does a video game marathon look like?
