Kevin starts this one out with the 1st of 4 games that get glowing impressions this week, Dragon Age Origins, which he scored a 9.5/10. He says that the narrative is great, and that if you give it 30 minutes, you will be hooked. Atypically, the Xbox 360 version loses out technically to the PS3 and PC versions. Justin says that The Ballad of Gay Tony is a great closer to GTAIV before Dead Space Extraction and Ratchet and Clank close out the love-fest.
Things turn for the negative with Tekken 6 and the announcement of the DSi XL. As is the case with many podcasts in the past week, the Modern Warfare 2 controversy is discussed here. Skip the 48:10 – 1:00:00 minute marks to skip the narrative spoilers. The guys also discuss another Modern Warfare 2 controversy surrounding a marketing video which they put out that contained a socially insensitive acronym.
After moving through the light week of news, we get another dose of ridiculous ESRB ratings descriptions. The show closes out on emails.
Covered games and topics: Dragon Age Origins, Gay Tony, Dead Space Extraction, Ratchet & Clank, Tekken 6, DSi XL, MW2, new X-com, PS2 not slowing down, emails
Shaun McInnis, Justin Calvert, Kevin VanOrd, Tom Mc Shea, and Brendan Sinclair get all gushy about Dragon Age, GTA: Ballad of Gay Tony, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, and Tekken 6. Then it’s time to tackle the DSi XL and Modern Warfare 2’s latest controversies in one preposterously packed podcast.
