The busy Fall release schedule has begun, but you wouldn’t know it by this week’s episode. Matt starts things off with the indie RTS Eufloria. The game is stylistically captivating and Matt touts its simplistic gameplay as a strength. This may not have a wide appeal, but it’s nice to see indie games getting a chance with services like Steam.
iPhone game take up the middle section this week. The guys pack 3 games into the segment which seems to make a lot more sense with smaller games like this. Canabalt has Ryan enjoying the bare-bones gameplay and pixel-art graphics, and Jason and Matt talk about Geared and Mr. Bounce.
Demon’s Souls is the big game this week. No one expected this FromSoftware developed, old-school dungeon crawler to be the big deal that it has become. The gameplay is rigid and deliberate, so it isn’t for everyone, and this is exemplified by the extremely divergent opinions here.
Believe it our not, it’s our first CO-OP: The Animated Series! Well… sort of. You’ll see. We have a lively debate on whether Demon’s Souls is as terrific as people say or truly awful, an in-depth about the ambient, indie RTS Eufloria and an iPhone round-up of some of our favorites: Canabalt, Geared, and Mr. Bounce!

Great episode – Ray Barnholt is the most delightful guy, seriously. Co-op is best when it’s… well, co-op. Kat and Ray really brought it home in that last segment and I felt like I wanted to be part of that conversation.
On a side note, why did they have to cover Eufloria and make me interested in yet another game in this holiday season? I’m gonna be so broke…
