DJ Hero is frst up this week since the IGN crew had a party centered around the game on Thursday. Everyone seems to be enjoying it more than they thought that they would. Greg has also been playing Band Hero which doesn’t sound like it is going to appeal to too many people, outside of kids/families.
Borderlands continues to get good buzz with word from Gearbox Software that they have been having supply issues. Whether this is a real situation or a marketing ploy, a lot of people have been caught off-guard by the quality of the game. If it isn’t completely lost among bigger releases it may be the sleeper hit of the fall season.
NPDs are out and Scribblenauts has done very well with 200,000+ copies sold in its first month. Dead Space Extraction is on the completely opposite spectrum with only 9000 copies sold in its first month. This figure is almost tragic considering the quality of the game and what this again confirms about the prospects of mature titles on the Wii. Emails finish out the show.
Covered games and topics: DJ Hero, Band Hero, Borderlands, GTA Chinatown Wars PSP, Calling All Cars, Dead Space Extraction, Scribblenauts, emails, gamer rage, games as medium
