The Totally Rad Show – Episode 135: Tit For Tat

The Totally Rad ShowThe first movie up this week is Where the Wild Things Are. There was a lot of anticipation for this movie considering its roots and director. The guys praise the look that Spike Jonze achieved, but it just didn’t have the “Je ne sais quoi” factor that they were hoping for. On the other hand, Jeff and Dan are raving about Paranormal Activity, with Jeff calling it one of the best executed films he has ever seen.

Uncharted 2 takes up the whole game section and everyone loved it. Dan states that he felt the story was actually less interesting than the one in the first game, but the characters more than make up for it. Alex didn’t enjoy Drake’s Fortune, but he has come around and comes off as enjoying this game the most out of the 3 guys.

The first appearance of the TV segment since the relaunch of the show is here, and the discussion includes Stargate: Universe and FlashForward. Alex and Dan are liking the new Stargate enough to stick with it, but Jeff is not feeling it. It sounds like SyFy is looking to fill the Battlestar Galactica void, both in tone and premise. FlashForward is in a similar position with it looking to capture the Lost audience for ABC. Everyone agrees that this show will probably catch on soon, so they are going to continue watching.

Since the relaunch, each show has started with a new opening. The amount of writing and editing going into doing this each week is a little mind-boggling. Anyone else finding themselves thinking this every week?

Should you go Where the Wild Things Are? Is Uncharted 2 really that good? We can’t even talk about Paranormal Activity! Plus, the new Stargate series and Goyer’s FlashForward

Runtime – 53:52
