The HotSpot 10/20/2009

by Jonathan Downin in GamesOctober 20th, 2009 @ 5:43 pm

The HotSpotBorderlands is proving to be received in a much more positive light than many previously thought. We touched on it in this week’s CastMedium Podcast and may have been a little hasty in our dismissal of the game. Demon’s Souls continues to capture imagination with Brian talking about his strange attraction to the game. Justin got his hands on the PSP version of GTA: Chinatown Wars and it sounds like Rockstar has polished it up nicely.

The tentatively forthcoming Sam Raimi directed Warcraft movie is still in the news. Justin voices his concern about the recent delusion of the fiction with Blizzard generalizing in their changes to WoW classes. The release date for Mass Effect 2 has been set for January 26th, and that has everyone excited.

NPDs were delayed last week and came in just in time for the HotSpot crew to discuss them. The PS3 had a great month with the release of the lower priced slim model. The Beatles: Rock Band ended up beating our Guitar Hero 5 as well.

Covered games and topics: Borderlands, Demon’s Souls, Chinatown Wars PSP, Forza 3, Alpha Protocall delay, Warcraft movie, Mass Effect 2 on January 26th, PS3 250Gb, NPDs, email, voicemails

Brian Ekberg, Justin Calvert, Tyler Winegarner, and Brendan Sinclair shift into gear with Forza 3, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on the PSP, and Demon’s Souls. Also, Chris Watters swings by to talk Borderlands, and Tom Mc Shea drops in for the monthly NPD sales figures.

Runtime – 1:47:03
