The Mobcast is on a roll and is getting stronger with every episode. Aaron Thomas seems to be taking over the main host role and he is great in the position. He is a perfect fit and gives a personality to the Mobcast that it has been a little light on until now.
Multiplayer games and their appeal, or lack thereof, are covered in the first topic this week. Jason and Aaron are the members of the group who are not into multiplayer games and it’s nice to have this view represented. The next topic is things each person hates in a game they love. The detective mode in Batman and the RTS section in Brutal Legend come up here.
What it takes to make a good super hero game is the third topic, and after quick mentions of Superman and the Justice League, the consensus is that what we really need is super villain games. The games that have been keeping the crew up late-topic fizzles-out with mention of WoW, Shadow Complex and Dragon Age. Discussion about the games press generally not doing hard-hitting developer interviews finishes the show.

The gang discuss things they hate in games they love; share what games are keeping them up late at night; come up with a strategy for tackling this season’s multiplayer games; reveal the superheroes they want to see get the “Arkham Asylum” treatment; and try to figure out why the gaming media can’t ask the tough questions.

The atmosphere of this show makes me think of a slumber party where a game of Truth or Dare or Spin the Bottle could break out at any moment. That or an AA meeting. I’m not hating, just commenting.
