Joystiq Podcast 113 – Plunger McGillicutty edition

by Jonathan Downin in GamesOctober 16th, 2009 @ 10:20 pm

Joystiq PodcastThere is a lot of praise for Uncharted 2 at the beginning of this episode. Chris touts the animation as being the best he has ever seen by citing many 1-off animations being used. Ludwig is equally impressed with the game and the guys can’t understand Tom Chick’s bafflingly negative take over at Crispy Gamer.

Brutal Legend gets some coverage with Randy Nelson talking about his review. Along with many others, he found the game to have quite a few unfortunate problems. This game is falling in a weird place with everyone wanting to love it, but just not quite being able to get over its problems.

Sony announced a 250Gb version of the PS3 for $349, which is a great price. On the PSPgo front, things are not so well with Sony announcing that 3rd party publishers are not required to make their games available for download off the PSN. This is just another reason to stick with the PSP 3000. Michael Pachter has predicted that Project Natal will go for $50, while Sony’s “Sphere” will be $100. This is a bold prediction, and Phil Spencer was not ready to talk about any potential price points during Ludwig’s interview.

Covered games and topics: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, Axel & Pixel, Spiderman Web of Shadows DS, PS3 250Gb, PSPgo PSN releases, Natal for $50?, Phil Spencer Interview, emails

The fall onslaught is fully upon us, and we’ve got some big discussions for all the big games. So, if you’ve had a hankering for our take on Brütal Legend, Uncharted 2 or Axel and Pixel, you should already be downloading. Also, we’ve got the first fake Visceral games and they are a-mazing.
