Starting off the show with stories as usual, CheapyD recounts his trip to Disney Sea in Tokyo the previous week with his wife. Wombat then tells about his adventure with his family going pumpkin picking, which included his wife getting a speeding ticket after she insisted on driving so Wombat didn’t get one.
Cheapy was unable to find Demon’s Souls to talk about like seemingly everyone else, so instead he picked up Mirror’s Edge, which he is actually enjoying so far. Wombat shares how he was able to play Tony Hawk RIDE and DJ Hero at his local mall, both of which he did not enjoy in the least. Cheapy also played the Bayonetta demo on both the PS3 and360 and though there have been lots of talks, he couldn’t see a big difference between the two.
A good CAGbag segment this week rounds out the show. One question asks if they owned any video game soundtracks, to which Cheapy says that his wife almost wanted to use the music from Area 5 of Rez for their wedding. Another listener asks if they think all three consoles have lived up to their expectations, to which both guys think the PS3 and 360 have, but kind of glaze over the Wii.
Covered games and topics: Disney, pumpkins, Demon’s Souls, Tony Hawk, Mirror’s Edge, Bayonetta, DJ Hero, Rez
The game industry is not waiting for its formative podcasting masterpieces to materialize from the hazy future. It’s here, right now, walking among us. The future was 2005, and in many ways we have yet to surpass it. Like Citizen Kane, the CAGcast is a landmark in both technical innovation and pure creativity.
