Chris quickly touches on Risen at the beginning this week and then the group moves onto Brutal Legend. They point out the polarizing effect that it has had in the press with the wide range of scores which it has been receiving. The games seems to fall into the good to great category with the guys here with them talking up the well constructed and atmospheric world as the real draw.
Nick attended a Left 4 Dead 2 event and is sharing his experiences with the new Scavenger mode. The new mode has the 4 player team collecting 16 gas cans to power a centrally located generator. It sounds like it continues L4D’s forte in creating dynamic player stories through gameplay.
Borderlands doesn’t fare nearly as well though with Nick struggling to say what he liked about the game. The gameplay sounds somewhat derivative and lacking in variety. He cites the enemy AI as a serious hindrance to the game as well. Emails conclude the show with the theme centering around the future of PC gaming and the potential shift towards a 1 console future.

All rise. At his command, Chris and Jake play a bunch of Brütal Legend, while Nick frantically stockpiles gas cans to make it through Left 4 Dead 2′s Scavenger mode, all the while trying to come to grips with his feelings on Borderlands. Plus a song about video games, but probably not what you’re thinking.
