Charles Onyett is on this week and he adds some much needed energy to the podcast. The usual group of Steve, Jeff and Marissa can prove to be a little dry at times so this is a nice change of pace.
Steve has finally come to his senses and deemed CrimeCraft to be one of the worst games around. As he points out, there are no less than 4 different ways in which the developers are looking to make money from this game, and 3 of them entail you giving money directly to them. Also, there is absolutely no crime-related gameplay– huh?
Jeff is talking about Command & Conquer 4 since he got a chance to check out a new build of the game. It sounds like EA is taking the game seriously and building a full stat-tracking backend into the game. This is a much needed feature for almost any multiplayer game these days so it is good to know that it will be in there. C&C 4 will be the last game in the canonical C&C storyline and it is a good choice for them to put this out before Blizzard’s StarCraft 2 hits the scene.
Covered games and topics: Risen, Crime Craft, Command & Conquer 4, Left 4 Dead 2, Mass Effect
The Command Prompt team is down a team member – Marissa isn’t able to be on the show today, so the MMO discussions are kept to a minimum. But instead of rolling as a duo, Steve and Jeff are joined by Prompt veteran Charles Onyett to discuss Risen, CrimeCraft, Command and Conquer 4 and Left 4 Dead 2. They even cover some of the latest details about Mass Effect 2 and whether it’s a shooter masquerading as an RPG, or an RPG masquerading as a shooter.
