Giant Bombcast 10-06-2009

by Derek Lavigne in GamesOctober 7th, 2009 @ 1:41 am

Giant BombcastInstead of jumping right into games they have been playing this week, the Bombcast guys address the large amount of hate the PSPgo has been receiving over the past week. Jeff went out and bought one on launch and says although he does not feel it should replace existing PSPs, it may be a good option. Ryan and Jeff also recall their weekend of playing pinball at the Pacific Pinball Expo. Brad also mentions that he will gladly be eating his foot on doubting how good Uncharted 2 is.

News of the world starts out with the discussion of David Bowie now being in Lego Rock Band, which all agree is leading the game in the correct direction. Word has leaked that a Call of Duty movie patent has been filed, which leaves everyone a bit confused as to where they would take it. News rounds out with the cast attempting to find the true meaning of an Epic Mickey.

Before moving into releases and emails, Jeff mentions that PS3 Trophy support is now operational on the Giant Bomb website. Emails this week inquire about whether or not the guys ever disagree on games and who their favorite Beastie Boy is.

Covered games and topics: PSPgo, pinball, Lego Rock Band, Uncharted 2, Epic Mickey, Call of Duty, PS3 Trophies

With the taste of Modern Warfare 2 on our lips we set our sights on the PSPgo, the world’s largest pinball expo, the acrimony of Work Time Fun, Uncharted 2, Lego Bowie, night-vision goggles in TrackMania 2, the PlayStation Threemote, and much more!

Runtime – 2:14:53

One Response to Giant Bombcast 10-06-2009

  1. Can I address a concerning trend in podcasts where almost each episode somebody insists on commenting on the limitation of the podcast medium? That is, that it doesn’t show hand movements, and it seems every show somebody makes a hand movement or a face that “can’t be seen by the listening audience”. This episode, it was about Natal gestures made by Jeff.

I don’t have any evidence for this, but I’ve heard it so many times; it just feels like every podcast I listen to somebody feels obligated to point out that it is in fact a podcast, and no, we can’t see somebody’s hand gestures. We get it already, it’s audio only.
