Engadget PodcastThe Dell Latitude Z 600 is the first topic this week and this one feature-packed computer– maybe to its detriment. It has a technology called “EdgeTouch” that results in a quick launch bar on the side of the the keyboard. It also has a lightweight instant-on Linux boot option that runs off a completely separate ARM processor. There is also a security enabled and document scanning 2 megapixel camera and wireless charging and syncing. The product seems so specialized that it fits almost no one’s needs.

The new HP Envy 13 gets a lot of praise from the guys, but seems to fall down with its difficult to use trackpad. Things then move onto the growing buzz around Microsoft’s Courier tablet. Joshua is arguing that there is precedent for Microsoft producing its own hardware and software with the Zune and Xbox 360 and that they are often at their best when they do so. Paul thinks that Microsoft will garner some ill will from its hardware partners if they don’t offer this as a software framework for 3rd party hardware.

The PSP Go continues to baffle with its high price and strange positioning within the market. The guys keep going back to the iPod Touch as a better gaming device for anyone in the position to choose between the 2. This argument carries into the discussion about the Garmin nuvifone with Joshua pointing out that you can get the same thing on iPhone with the $99 app and “you still have an iPhone.” Paul is singing the praises of the CLIQ and Palm’s WebOS 1.2 is now available for Pre owners.

Look, an Engadget Podcast, delivered on schedule! That certainly hasn’t happened in a while — and to celebrate, the crew did another live show yesterday, running down a couple new Dell and HP laptops, some more Courier info, the PSP Go, and some phone news before a live (chat room) audience.
