Nick Breckon returns to video games this week and tells some tales of going home and gaming with the family. The conversation quickly turns to the latest Mass Effect 2 trailer, which highlights the character “Subject Zero” and the airborne contagion that the Dragon Age’s “Violence” Trailer brought to Bioware with symptoms of terrible hard rock music and “edgy” “adult” “themes”. It’s dismaying to see the ME2 enthusiasm sapped from the previously ME giddy Chris Remo, but hopefully a handful of trailers won’t ruin what looks to be a promising game.
Halo 3: Odious Tea gets another shoutout after Chris’s completion of the game. The guys discuss the uneven nature of most Halo games, including ODST, but Chris makes sure to point out the density of the game which cuts badly constructed segments short. Left 4 Dead’s latest DLC add-on, titled “Crash Course”, gets a bit of praise due to the short length of the campaign which nods to a more casual experience. The show closes out with a long listener questions segment, which naturally results in a lot of joke-slinging and giggling.
Covered games and topics: Mass Effect 2, Halo 3: ODST, Left 4 Dead: Crash Course, The Shivah, Majesty II: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim, Blaster Master, Perfect Dark
