Giant Bombcast 09-29-2009

by Derek Lavigne in GamesSeptember 30th, 2009 @ 7:30 am

Giant BombcastThis week’s Bombcast starts off like usual with games everyone has been playing, which this week dominated by experiences with DJ Hero. They all tend to agree that it was better than they expected, although Ryan expresses some displeasure over feeling the controller is too crowded. Brad also shares his experience with Dead Space: Extraction and is stopped short of spoiling a party that he really wanted to share.

The news segment, after quickly touching on TGS, talk turns to the rumored Super Street Fighter IV and what Capcom would need to do to make it worth a full retail release. With the eminent release of the PSPgo and the recently announced abandonment of any type of UMD trade-in program, all of the Giant Bomb staff have all but sworn off being interested. Jeff suggests that the PSPgo may only be for people just getting into the PSP market now.

The mailbag this week brings a couple of Persona 4 related questions, which makes Jeff once again voice that he still feels a bit empty in the morning without it. The almost required food-based email asking about steaks leads to Jeff defending his decision to use ketchup. A last email about the possible closing of Blockbuster falls short as everyone agrees that it will not be missed.

Covered games and topics: DJ Hero, Dead Space: Extraction, Street Fighter IV, PSPgo, Steak, ketchup, bets

The Giant Bombcast rocks out with more Arkham Asylum conversation, our first DJ Hero hands-on experience, Jeff’s undying love of video pinball, our TGS 2009 highlights, Super Street Fighter II, our continuing Splinter Cell: Conviction drama, and more!

  1. [...] Pinball seems to be making a comeback with the release of Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection. The guys seem to be enjoying it and they aren’t the only ones. [...]
