CheapyD and Wombat are joined by Shipwreck this week to round out the TGS coverage from both someone who was there and those that were not. After some quick banter about broken TVs and upcoming game reviews, Cheapy gets into talking about how he loved TGS but felt guilty being there since he doesn’t do any kind of writing. He didn’t feel guilty about going to was the Kotaku party though, which featured an appearance from Meta Gear creator Hideo Kojima. Cheapy says that although he respects Kojima as a developer, he wasn’t sure why people were clamoring for pictures with him.
Getting into his actual TGS experience, Cheapy is very high on Bayonetta and says that other games in the genre can’t even compare. He goes on to say he was also lucky enough to get to see Alan Wake behind closed doors and that he really likes the style they are going for. Cheapy also shares his food adventures, although they don’t seem to amuse Wombat or Shipwreck all that much.
Wombat leads off what they have been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, which he feels had potential, but lacks a certain type of charm that the first game had. Shipwreck goes on from here with the long list of games he has been playing including Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Edition, Disgaea 2 for PSP, and Demon Souls, which he says is way too hard. Cheapy and Shipwreck agree that Halo 3: ODST is a great experience, if not a little short. Wombat quickly goes through his semi-broken Scribblenauts experience, like many, and says he ends up just using a jetpack and a rope in every level.
Covered games and topics: TGS, Hideo Kojima, Bayonetta, Darksiders, MUA2, Pinball Hall of Fame, Demon Souls, Scribblenauts
