This is one long, news-packed episode of the Engadget Podcast. Things start out with some discussion about a leaked video detailing a Microsoft tablet with the code-name Courier. It looks amazing and is very high concept which has the guys speculating that this is the equivalent of a concept car which will never see public release. Hopefully Apple will see this and give us more than just a big iPod Touch when they get around to doing a tablet.
After touching on Microsoft’s long-rumored Pink phones, the recent net neutrality proposal by the FC Chairman takes center stage. As expected, all 3 of the guys are excited about this development and it looks like ISP will no longer be able to shape content.
The closes out with the guys talking about USB 3.0 and Intel/Apple’s Light Peak standard. USB 3.0 is going to be a nice update to the standard with significant speed improvement and will be a smooth update due to its backwards and forwards compatibility. Light Peak sounds like it will be quite a bit more capable with support for multiple simultaneous high bandwidth tasks.
