Halo ODST is still the talk of the gaming world. Justin, along with what must be many others, has fallen victim to old-style saving issues in the game. When quitting the game, if you don’t specifically hit the “quit and save” menu option, all of your progress will be lost. Even though this is in parity with Halo 3, it is an antiquated saving mechanic and should have been fixed in ODST.
There are a lot of sequels coming up this holiday season and the guys are talking about 2 of the biggest, Uncharted 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2. Justin is current in the review process of Uncharted 2 and even though he can’t say much, you can glean from his demeanor here that he is enjoying it. Ludwig is still in Japan for TGS and he has some nice things to say about Assassin’s Creed 2.
The Sega leak detailing plans to bring Dreamcast and PS2 games to the PS3 get some discussion before Ludwig talks about Project Natal and demos for the new control scheme on display at TGS. He details that the hardware works, but there still no promising games on the horizon to take advantage of it. He gets into more detail on his thoughts in a post he did over on Joystiq.
Covered games and topics: Halo 3: ODST save issue, Uncharted 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, Spyborgs, Sega leak, Natal demos, 360 pricing, emails
We’ve bridged 13 time zones to bring you this particular edition of the Joystiq Podcast, with our own Ludwig Kietzmann reporting direct from the Tokyo Game Show. That means he’s played and seen a ton of things you haven’t (like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Halo Legends) and can’t wait to talk about them.
Plus, we’ve got Halo 3: ODST discussion and we’re giving away Need For Speed: Shift on the 360 (but you have to take a signed copy of Puffins: Island Adventure with it). Listen in to find out how you can win! Oh, and thanks to Mike Santos for the historically accurate photoshop.
