Drunken Gamers Radio 9-22-09

Drunken Gamers RadioThis week in the Team Fremont attic starts off on a very different note than usual, with John spilling the good news that his wife is pregnant (congrats John!). A couple of voicemails from regular caller Fluffy Nuts doesn’t fail to entertain as he gives his opinions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. In the mail bag, the guys tackle the controversial issue of emulators and agree that if a game is not available through the publisher any longer, they tend to not see an issue with using them.

The reviews segment starts off with Scribblenauts with the guys agreeing that although the game has a great concept, the execution of the stylus controls could have been pulled off better. They also find it hilarious that the puzzles often can be solved with the simplest item when you have been beating your head against the wall. Moving on to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, the team were initially scared away by it being done by a different developer than the first, but agree that although it is a little different, it does have its own charm. The retro review for the week is Banjo-Kazooie, which Moe praises but said if you were to want the game these days, you would be better off getting it on Xbox 360.

This week’s feature presentation is a change of pace, with friend of the show DJ Incompetent showcasing some of his favorite video game and non-video game related music. In Five Things, the team goes over some quick gaming news, including no Goldeneye remake, Wii price drop, and Yakuza 3 officially coming to the US.

Games and topics discussed: family additions, Scribblenauts, MUA2, Banjo-Kazooie, DJ Incompetent, Yakuza 3

DS Review: Scribblenauts, 360 Review: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Retro Review: Banjo Kazooie (N64), Feature Presentation: DJI Music Discovery 2, Five Things, DGR Mailbag and Drunk Dials
