It’s a Chris-less show this week, but Griffin is always a great addition to the group. He is almost as able as Chris in creating awkward silences. There are a lot of games discussed here. The description of Borderlands post–apocalyptic setting being unique in that it is not overbearing and dark like Fallout 3 makes it sound like a fresh take on a trodden setting.
The Modern Warfare 2 event and reveal of the “super elite” 250Gb bundle is the biggest news of the week. Justin asks who needs a 250Gb as his recently acquired 120Gb hard drive is only half full and it doesn’t look like it will fill up any time soon.
Justin has done another of his “Spot the real Wii or DS game” and it is an absolute must-listen. Skip ahead to the 52:35 minute mark and be in a place where bursting out in sudden laughter won’t garner you weird stares. The last chunk of the podcast is almost all Halo ODST talk, but anything beyond the first 4 levels is still embargoed so don’t expect too much new information until early next week.
Covered games and topics: WET, Mini Ninjas, Final Fantasy Dissidia, Professor Layton 2, DJ Hero, Scribblenauts, Borderlands, Heroes over Europe, Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 bundle, Shane Kim leaves MS, Halo3 ODST
We know we’re always saying that we’ve got a good Joystiq Podcast for you, but this week we can actually say it with a straight face. We’ve got a lengthy Halo 3: ODST talk and the triumphant return of Spot the Real Wii or DS Game!
We’ve also got free Uncharted 2 and MAG beta codes, should you need even more reason to listen. Oh, and thanks to Alan Black for the moving photoshop tribute.
… Yes, there’s some autotuning. We don’t want to talk about it.
