Game Scoop! Podcast, Episode 136

by Jon Cole in GamesSeptember 18th, 2009 @ 11:15 pm

Game Scoop! The beginning of this week’s Game Scoop! is dedicated to a loving farewell to Jeremy Dunham, who seemed to be an IGN lifer until now.  After Jeremy earns his first super-fan, Greg talks for a little bit about his new PSP Go, which seemed to arrive in the nick of time as his regular PSP broke.  All of the guys seem satisfied with the form factor and are eager to pick it up, but seem to be wary about the tall price.  The hands-on gave the crew a chance to check out the PSP minis as well, which were solid but seemingly unexciting.

Greg provides a renaissance of the rant segment, where he rails against Kanye West for his rude interruption of Taylor Swift.  Any fan of the show would know that Greg is a huge fan of this young country sensation, so he spits vitriolic and entertaining threats out at our autotune ace.

This short episode wraps up with some listener mail, which brings to light a celebration of Game Scoop’s birthday.  They also talk about the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which Daemon and Greg will be attending.  The last piece of listener mail talks about the final name bestowed upon Levi Buchanan’s dog - Waffle my Taco, named by “Someone Stole My Tortilla.”

Covered games and topics: Jeremy Dunham leaves IGN, PSP Go hands on, PSP Minis, Kanye West rant, Borderlands, TGS, Levi Buchanan’s dog, Nostradunhamus’s final prediction

This week Daemon Hatfield, Greg Miller, and Ryan Geddes bid a fond farewell to Jeremy Dunham. After seven years he is moving on to pursue other career opportunities. But before he goes, he might be able to make one last Nostradunhamus prediction.

We’ve also got a PSP Go here in the office, and we all agree it’s pretty sexy.

Greg would like to have a word with a certain rapper.

Plus, we answer a bunch of listener mail about Borderlands, TGS, and the games of November. Finally, Levi will pick a winner for his Name My Dog contest. Don’t forget, we’re available on iTunes, along with episodes of Game Scoop! TV. Remember to rate the shows while you’re there.
