With Moe out for some undetermined reason, Hilden and John are running a two man show. Most of the week’s drunk dials relate to the feature presentation, so those are skipped in favor of just a few emails, including one asking the guys if they have a “cool down” game to end lengthy gaming sessions. The reviews this week kick off with Contra ReBirth for Wiiware, which both of the guys agree is a complete throwback to the 16-bit days in every respect. Next up is Raiden IV for the 360, which Hilden touts as much more intense than the last installment.
From there, like many podcasts this week, John and Hilden go into their experiences with The Beatles: Rock Band. With both of them being big Beatles fans, they really dig the story mode progression through their career and are glad that Harmonix chose to not include other bands’ music like some of the Guitar Hero games have done.
The feature presentation for the week sees the Drunken Gamers counting down their top 10 Dreamcast games of all time. Mixed into the list are drunk dials from listeners giving their opinions on the top games of all time as well as sharing some of their memories. Number one on their list, as with a lot of other people, is SoulCalibur and the guys share some of their fond memories of the game, including getting beaten badly by button mashers. To close out the show, Hilden shares his nightmare story of once again getting a red-ringed 360, which has caused him to contemplate selling his whole collection and moving on.
