Whether it is because Dan has been on leave for the past week or there is just nothing notable out, there is no movie review this week. Instead, the guys take the chance to talk about some big movie news including Disney’s acquisition of Marvel and the Jon Favreau signing on to do an adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens. The movie section ends with talk of the return of Michael jackson’s Captain EO and Star Tours.
Guitar Hero 5 takes up all of the game time with a segment that was largely shot at Neversoft. Alex and Jeff got a chance to check out the game. While they are fairly positive about it, Alex can’t help but feel like it’s just not Rock Band.
There is a TV section this week and the guys give their opinions on the new show Community, and then move onto a love-filled discussion about Friday Night Lights. Dan and Jeff have both fallen in love with the show and Alex seems to be enjoying it as well. Be warned though, Jeff does get into some minor spoiler territory.
At the very end of the episode, after the outtakes, there is a cryptic message that says “131 is coming.” This is obviously referring to episode 131, but what does it mean? Any theories out there?
We jam out to Guitar Hero 5! What does $4 billion dollars buy you? Marvel, of course. Is “Community” the next great TV comedy? Plus, we look back at the first season of “Friday Night Lights.”
