The guys touch on their plans for PAX. If you want to meet the Idle Thumbs guys you should show up at the bottom of the big escalator in the convention center at 5:15 pm on Saturday. You don’t have to be attending PAX to get into the bottom level of the convention center so all are welcome. Also, they will be giving away some free games. More details are available on idlethumbs.net.
Chris can’t get enough of Mass Effect and continues to go on about it here. He is still playing through with his sniper which is working out better than he thought it would after boosting his sniper stats. The soldier class still seems like the way to go though.
Chris picked up a Novint Falcon and he is sharing his experiences here.
Batman and a lot of smaller games get some discussion before the emails section which takes up almost half of the show. One interesting questions that comes out of the email is about getting scared by non-horror games. DEFCON comes up as an example from the guys.
Covered games and topics: Mass Effect, PAX, Spider, Time Donkey, AaaaaAAaaaAAA!!!, Novint Falcon, emails

I used the sniper-based class in my latest playthrough and it was actually incredibly rewarding once I upgraded it about halfway. Fully upgraded, it was pretty nice, though it still felt like the bobbing was incredibly arbitrary and stupid.
In other news, video games.
Also, wizard.
Jon,
Yeah, I’m getting to the point now where I’ve selected my subclass (Commando) and put quite a few points into sniper rifles and the Spectre skill, so my rifle is relatively usable. It just seems silly that as a supposed weapons expert, I would have to put so much effort into just becoming competent. It’s hard to imagine that, within the fiction of this game, someone who’s supposedly such a brilliant example of their chosen field — to the point where they are the first human representative in this uber-elite space squad of awesome dudes — would be such a terrible shot by this point in their career.
Oh, I absolutely agree with you. Luckily, I’m not as put off by using pistols as you apparently are. Between using the tech skills like overload, the grenades, and the pistol, I don’t really mind having the gimped sniper rifle until midgame.
Nonetheless, they could have easily remedied this silly problem by implementing a system like Call of Duty uses. If they were concerned about breaking the game or something like that, they could just make the recharge time on holding your breath/steadying your rifle a little bit longer.
