Starting out this weeks cast is a discussion about Kurt Cobain’s inclusions in Guitar Hero 5. Music games have started to become formulaic, but you will be able to use your Xbox avatars in the new GH, which could be a cool novelty. Batman also continues to get some talk time before moving onto other big comic news with Disney acquiring Marvel for $4 billion.
God of War and God of War II are being remastered for release on PS3. The new version will be in 720P HD and run at 60 frames per second. You can get in on this beautified Kratos action this winter for $39.99. This is something Sony should have done a long time ago, but with the release of God of War III looming it’s great that this sort of pack is finally coming. Hopefully this pack does well so more companies will be encouraged to do similar remasterings of older classics.
After complaining about Rock Band prices the crew touches on the recent layoffs at Maxis, mostly comprised of members of the Spore team. Sophia talks a little about a forthcoming XBLA release that has been making the rounds, The Misadventure of PB Winterbottom. Best and worst Disney/Marvel crossovers close out this week’s episode in the homework section.
Covered games and topics: Guitar Hero 5, Batman, Marvel to Disney for $2 billion, God of War I & II PS3, 360 price drop, Rock Band deals, ManHunt 2 PC AO, Maxis cutting staff, PB Winterbottom, corrections, voicemails, emails, best/worse Disney & Marvel crossovers
