The beginning of this week’s Mobcast is a little strange. Dan is out this week and Greg Ford is filling in, but it almost seems like the guys recorded separately before the group really gets into the conversation.
MMOs are the first topic this week and nobody is that into them. Greg points out that it seems like a waste to get into an MMO when there are so many other great games that he wants to experience. Christian does mention that he plans on giving Final Fantasy XIV a go, and Michael says the same about Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Christian’s topic about changing relationships with games takes the podcast in a strange direction that has him, and Michael to an even larger extent, admitting that they just aren’t into games like they used to be. Michael goes on to say that things that are on the periphery of games, like game-related cakes (?), are more exciting to him than the actual games. Understandably, Greg isn’t too happy about these revelations.
Favorite game mediums yields some fun reminiscing, not much comes out of the zombie talk outside of Michael being a zombie sympathizer, and the Western vs. Japanese game design topics proves to be too big for a short discussion.
