Hilary Goldstein is out this week, so Erik Brudvig is hosting and starts with an interview with Travis Chen of Neversoft on the upcoming Guitar Hero 5. Travis goes in-depth on the studio tools and options, which will be pretty powerful. In a bizarre experiment, the team calls TRL fans to ask Travis questions directly, and it actually goes pretty smoothly.
Mass Effect: Pinnacle Station DLC appeared without warning this week, but it’s apparently a disappointing series of combat missions. Even for $5, Erik says it’s not worth it. Epic continues to punish its earlier DLC adopters, as a Gears of War 2: GOTY edition is coming out with the game and all DLC content for $40.
Charles shares some experiences from Gamescom, including his thoughts on the booth babes and some play time with Assassin’s Creed 2. The crew goes through a few other games, including Batman: Arkham Aslyum before wrapping up with emails. Even without Hilary, TRL is still all over the place, but the guys are funny and have some good tangents throughout the show.
