With Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard a mere 3 days away, it is a big topic this week. While Leo doesn’t want to spend too much time on it since next week’s episode will probably be nothing but impressions, Andy does speculate on the motivation for Apple to reduce the disk space imprint of the new OS. He surmises that it may have something to with Apple wanting to accommodate for SSDs, possibly for the forthcoming tablet. Also, don’t miss the Snow Leopard application compatibility Wiki.
Apple has released 2 new “Get a Mac” ads and they are both pretty good with the standout featuring Patrick Warburton of Puddy on Seinfeld fame. After quickly discussing the rumored sprucing up of the plastic MacBook design, the guys move onto the latest rumors in tablet land. The latest is that Steve Jobs has been exclusively focusing on the project since his return.
The App Store approval process continues to be under the microscope with Apple’s recent open letter to the FCC. With over 8400 apps submitted a week and 40 people on staff in the app approval department, it seems like a rough situation. Leo, Andy and Alex chime in with their thoughts on the recent issues and the prospect of future apps from Rhapsody and others being approved.
