Microsoft’s press conference at Gamescom earlier in the week was pretty light on announcements. The only big news to come out of the briefing was Molyneux’s announcement of Fable III. The player will become a king in the progression of the storyline and Natal integration was heavily teased throughout the presentation. It is scheduled for release late next year. The guys weren’t too impressed by Microsoft’s conference and they detail why here.
One thing that didn’t get a announced was a price drop for the Xbox 360. It has been long rumored that the Elite system would replace the current Pro, which would effectively be a price reduction of sorts, but it looks like we will have to wait a bit longer on that. Even with the Elite system priced at $299, it may not be enough to match the newly priced PS3 slim system that is also priced at $299.
Halo ODST is just a month away and the TRL crew is excited. After sharing their enthusiasm, the podcast cuts to an interview with Chair Entertainment’s Donal Mustard where Hilary and Erik get in-depth about Shadow Complex. If you have a 360 and $15, you should own this game.
Extra special Episode 123 finds Charles Onyett in Germany, leaving Hilary Goldstein and Erik Brudvig in the office to hold down the fort. TRL honorary member David Clayman steps in to fill the void left by Mr. Slime. Up for discussion is Halo 3: ODST, Fable III and its hour long announcement, Lips: Deutche Partyknaller, Batman: Arkham Asylum and more. As a special bonus, Chair Creative Director Donald Mustard pops in at the end for a chat about his latest game, Shadow Complex. The game is great. Learn its history here.
