Section 8 is a game that has been flying under the radar to a large extent. Even after it is discussed at some length at the beginning here, the phrase “generic shooter” not only comes up, but sounds suitable. It apparently has a fairly strong Tribes feel to it’s gameplay, so it may be worth a look if you were into that classic online shooter though.
Fat Princess continues to not quite pull people in post-release. Although the reactions are somewhat mixed, the overall impression is that is just doesn’t have staying power. On the other side, Wii Sports Resort continues to be almost impervious to criticism. It seems to be fun enough, while still unrealistic, to the point where it hard to have any justified strong negative opinions pointed it’s way.
The whole second half of the show is taken up by emails, so unfortunately, there is no topic of the week. The thing that has always been GWJ’s forte is deep discussion on thought-out topics. That is still here, just in smaller chunks. Stay tuned for the big 150 next week.
