The first big topic of the week is the Zune HD. It seems like Microsoft’s new media player may just transform their perception in the market place. Paul shares his experience with the device and heralds the soft-keyboard. Staying on the Microsoft front, the guys discuss the final version of Windows 7 and it sounds like almost everyone is happy, if not impressed with it.
Dell has been letting loose with their recent product announcements. They have a new net-top style PC that they are playing close to the vest, along with a a refresh to their Inspiron Z family. The biggest Dell-related news is the surfacing of supposed spy shots of the Mini 3i smartphone. It has a customized Android interface and as of now is thought to only launch in China for the time being.
Apple takes up the last part of the discussion this week with Joshua going on at length about what he thinks the rumored iTablet may be. He throws out an idea that it will be more than just a internet device and may have more media capabilities, such as wireless streaming video to a TV and more.
The crew took a new approach this week, as many are doing recently, and live-streamed the podcast yesterday on UStream. They plan to continue doing this so look for news on the timing for the next Thursday morning. We will keep you updated on that and all other live streaming news via our Twitter at twitter.com/castmedium.
Get ready for a wild one, folks — we recorded this week’s Engadget Podcast with a live (chatroom) studio audience, and things got a little rowdy. Join Josh, Paul and Nilay as they run down the new Zune HD, Windows 7, two new Dell machines and three new Samsung cameras before finally — at the urging of the crowd — tackling the Apple tablet rumors. Definitely a fun show — we’ll have to do more like this in the future. Until then, what are you waiting for? Get downloading!
