Jared Rea joins the Bombcast this week, and it’s surprising to find someone who knows as much about Street Fighter and arcade cabinets as Jeff Gerstmann. So, it’s a half hour and a discussion on EVO tournament etiquette before they even get into current games.
Everyone played Shadow Complex, the upcoming Xbox 360 Metroidvannia side-scroller, over the weekend and like it. Ryan polished off Prototype and thought more of story than Brad, while Vinny finally finished Fallout 3, but is now caught in the DLC.
Jeff recently played some Command & Conquer 4, which he questionned when it was first announced, but it seems like a departure for the series with more action-based combat, so he sees potential. However, he quickly gets distracted brainstorming the logistics of a wrestling-based RTS with Jared.
Other amusing tangents include a long discussion on celebrity voice acting, brawlers in 2009, classic wrestling games, and why Chevy Chase is a jerk. All in all, another fun Bombcast.
Covered games and topics: Street Fighter IV, EVO tournaments, arcade cabinets, Shadow Complex, Fallout 3, Gamerscores, Prototype, G.I. Joe, Command & Conquer 4, Guitar Hero 5, QVC, Chevy Chase, Halo movie, 50 Cent in Modern Warfare 2, Midway sale, wrestling games, DJ Hero, The Witness
This week we welcome arcade enthusiast and friend of Giant Bomb Jared Rea to the table for conversation about EVO cliques, Korean rhythm games, Guitar Hero 5, Spielberg’s Halo, 50 Cent in Modern Warfare 2, Michael Cera in everything, and more!
