The Geekbox: Episode 25

by Jonathan Downin in Games, MiscJuly 30th, 2009 @ 12:57 pm

The GeekboxThe whole first part of this week’s Geekbox is interspersed with Karen’s fascination with a rather racy take on Alice in Wonderland extended fiction in comic form.  The world of comics is a crazy one, and this illustrates exactly why.

Comic-Con gets the crew interested, but there is less actual comic book news coming out of the show every year.  The conversation quickly moves onto TV and then movies.  It sounds like Bruno entertained and Fitch has the best story to tell about his experience taking dates to both Bruno and Borat a few years ago.

This is Greg Ford’s last Geekbox as his is moving to further his academic career.  All the best to Greg and his future academic life.  With this comes the reveal that at1UP’s Mike Cruz will be taking the seat left by Greg’s absence.  Mike will be a great addition with his extensive comic knowledge, not to mention we are just fans of his around here.

Wherein we discuss the director’s cut of Watchmen, Karen’s favorite porno comics, San Diego Comic-Con 2009, the World of Warcraft movie, people who obsess over fictional relationships, comic book lettering, ‘Splosion Man, Bruno, Snape killing Dumbledore, Burn Notice episode 3×07, Fitch’s latest hot date, kicking bad habits, and Greg Ford’s big farewell. Starring Ryan Scott, Karen Chu, Andrew Fitch, Greg Ford, and Ryan Higgins.

  1. Jon Cole says:

Great podcast this week, only thing I can complain about is their Burn Notice coverage. And that’s really my own fault – they got me into the show and after weeks of playing catch-up, I’m one episode away from being in sync. The only barrier to that? Hulu! =/

  2. Still haven’t checked out Burn Notice. That Hulu stuff is a real bummer. The service is great, they just need to get that stuff up sooner. I don’t think anyone wants to deal with torrents anymore, not that I do that…
