CO-OP is only covering two games this week; and they assemble a full party to swap war stories about Battlefield 1943, and then sit a few guys down to talk about Wii Sports Resort.
While Battlefield 1943 has had problems with matchmaking and its servers, everyone is having a lot of fun with this XBLA shooter with a focus on their fun experiences. Veteran Battlefield players will be familiar with the game style, but some of the newcomers to the series are discovering the charms of the game’s classes, vehicles and WWII setting. BitMob’s Dan Hsu isn’t sure why this version is much different than the seven-year-old PC original, but the group thinks the cheap price and quality maps make it a great deal for current gen consoles.
Wii Sports Resort gets another round of approval, and the crew sees it as a good replacement for Wii Sports. They think the added fidelity provided by the Wii Motion Plus and new unlocks will offer hardcore players more motivation to continue playing and improve their skills, instead of abandoning it quickly like the original. Not surprisingly, archery is the most popular sport, though Anthony Gallegos is asking for a William Tell simulator.
