The guys threw a Giant Bomb shindig including fighting games and many adult beverages last Friday and they have more than a few things to share about the night. It is always cool to see sites like this holding community events, hopefully they do more of these.
The Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition will include night-vision goggles, and from the sound of things, Jeff and Vinny have more than a few ideas about what to do with them. The Giant Bombcast always brings the laughs, but Jeff’s emphatic explanation of why he needs the goggles is amazing.
Harmonix announced Rock Band Network which will allow anyone (with the technical ability and know-how) to code and upload their own songs to be sold through Rock Band. The service and potential is definitely nice, but people want to play songs they know, so the jury is still out on this one.
Covered games and topics: Giant Bomb meet-up, Wii Sports Resort, Blaz Blue, Battlefield 1943, Monkey Island SE, MW2 night-goggles, Rock Band Network, Giant Bomb DLC pages, releases, emails

Boy, that discussion about the night vision goggles is ridiculously funny. And they’re all so good at making that noise… genius.
By the way, Vinny’s gonna win that bet – there’s no way Splinter Cell could not have some form of NVGs, let alone trifocal ones which are bound to be in there.
The talk about Evo 2009 in tandem with the recollection of the Street Fighter IV tournament they held at their meet-up was pretty interesting. I liked hearing what Jeff thought about the competitive fighting scene, since the guys seem to be big fans of fighting games (BlazBlue aside!). The recurring Rocky voice was classic and as Matthew said, they hit the night vision goggles conversation right on the head.
I feel like I can agree that the NVGs will pop up again at some point in Conviction just for nostalgia value, though I certainly believe that they’re not necessary given the fast-paced nature reflected in the trailers.
