Joystiq Podcast 100 – Century edition

by Jonathan Downin in GamesJuly 10th, 2009 @ 5:03 pm

Joystiq PodcastBattlefield 1943 is not working too well for many people.  Apparently EA underestimated the popularity of the game so they did not allocate enough servers for online play.  How is that possible?  Hopefully it is working after they threw some more servers at the problem.

The first episode of Tales of Monkey Island is out and it is good.  Some of LucasArts games have been put on Steam as well and that is a very good thing.  If you want to see more remakes of these old classics get over to Steam and buy the originals.

This is a episode 100 for the ‘Stiq boys, so congrats to them.  Give them a call to their new voicemail line at 1-877-joystiq and let them know how much you like ‘em.  Here’s to 100 more!

Covered games and topics: Battlefield 1943, Mercenaries 2, Transformers 2, Silent Hill Origins, Tales of Monkey Island Episode 1, LucasArts on Steam, Call of Duty name on Modern Warfare 2, 1 vs. 100, Dead Space sales, stump JC, new podcast line 1-877-joystiq, a call to Justin’s dad

We’ve been threatening to do it forever, and it’s finally arrived: our 100th show, recorded before a live internet audience earlier today. We’ve got a very special intro from a guest celebrity, touching memories, a random call to Justin’s dad, a brand new call-in hotline and so SO much more.
