The Podcast Beyond guys are talking a lot about the rumored PS3 Slim this week and the consensus is that this will be announced at the Tokyo Game Show. Hopefully when Sony does announce it a price drop will accompany it. More likely is a price drop for the current system to clear the inventory and the PS3 Slim launching at the current $399 price point.
Sony has recently patented a system to emulate the PS2 Emotion Engine on the PS3′s Cell chip. Although this doesn’t account for the GPU in the PS3 their is speculation that this means Sony will put it out along with a deluse of PS2 titles. That would certainly be a welcome addition to the PS3′s capabilities.
