Acquisition talks ensue. Though we have heard a lot on this topic, these guys are very familiar with these companies since most of them come from the PC side of things. The guys make a great point about the EA consolidation. They say Mythic has a lot to add to Star Wars: The Old Republic with their experience in big PvP combat with their previous MMO experience. With the Jedi vs. Sith angle of the game, this could be very exciting.
Jeff had a chance to play some Starcraft 2, but he doesn’t have too many new details to dole out. If you are interested int he game you are going to buy it no matter what and are clamoring for any details you can get, so here you go.
Jason is teasing some “monumental news” that will be coming out next week. Apparently it is something this is actually happening today, but they have to sit on the news for a little bit. The only details they will let out is that it is news about a beloved franchise.
Also, some big news for the podcast. Command Prompt will be merging with IGN’s MMO podcast, Ding!. For better or for worse this will be the last episode of Command Prompt.
After a failed attempt at podcasting last week, the IGN PC Team finally turns in the glorious number 50 podcast. Alas, it’s also the last of Command Prompt as we currently know it. No, we aren’t going away, but next week we’re going to see a fusion of two podcasts, as the IGN Vault Network’s Ding! podcast merges with Command Prompt.
For now, we talk about the past week, and what a week it was. Being that everyone on the team is over 30, it’s time to reflect on the greatness that was the young Michael Jackson before we jump into the news. Bethesda and id? BioWare and Mythic?
