Podcast Beyond, Episode 96

by Jonathan Downin in GamesJune 25th, 2009 @ 7:55 pm

Podcast BeyondNot too much going on in the gaming scene right now.  Even though some great games have already come out this year we are starting to feel the summer lull.

The PSN release of Final Fantasy VII sold over 100,000 units in its first 2 weeks of release.  Come on SquareEnix, just put out that remake already, people are obviously interested in playing FFVII again.

The guys have a discussion about the impact of companies being acquired or merging with the news of id/Bethesda and Mythic/Bioware.

Covered topics and games: Final Fantasy VII, motion controller, GTA: Chinatown Wars PSP, mergers and acquisitions

Chris, Greg, Ryan and Sam want nothing more than to settle in at home; put out the teapot; bake some light, fluffy pastries and sit under the delectable shade of a cool umbrella and listen to the curious sparrows flit about in merry play. But there’s no time for that, now. No, the PlayStation Team needs to get some serious business taken care of and what better time to settle that business then now on Podcast Beyond. Today’s show is all about mergers — when videogame companies collide. What does it mean for the developers? What does it mean for the games? Why won’t Greg accept Ryan’s amazing ideas? All this and more.

Runtime – 48:15
