Engadget Podcast 148 – 05.30.2009

by Jonathan Downin in TechMay 30th, 2009 @ 3:37 pm

Engadget PodcastIt’s been a relentless week for news in the tech world and without Nilay, Joshua and Paul start out by talking about the Zune HD.  Microsoft revealed the Zune HD in a very unofficial and strange way.  You would think that with such a potentially market affecting device that they would take the chance to play up the announcement in a big way, but maybe they accomplished exactly what they needed to.

As the launch of the Pre quickly approaching the news surrounding the device is ramping up to a large extent.  The strangest of which is undoubtedly the fact that it will unofficially sync with iTunes.  It doesn’t seem like this is sanctioned by Apple in any way, so this is a strange way for Palm to go with it.

The PSP Go! is confirmed to be real and it is exactly what it was rumored to be.  We will have to wait for E3 to see what is really going on with the device, but as Paul says, the actual processing power seems like it may be a little lacking at this point.  The PS3 slim is a hot topic and with E3 just days away the guys jump in with their speculation.

We know it’s been a long, difficult wait, filled with unspeakable hardships and maybe a bit of Saturday brunch, but the Engadget Podcast is here at last to take away the pain and churn through the insanity of this week’s news like a hot knife through imitation butter. It’s just Paul and Josh this week, and things should get even crazier next week as E3 descends upon us all, but we promise to get the gang back together real soon to deliver the sort of off-topic rants and delicious non-sequitors you’ve come to expect from these three beautiful men.
