Infamous has swept the gaming press after being highly praised things have started to turn a little bit more negative. First the HotSpot guys had some nitpicks and now the Rebel FM guys get their thoughts out there. It sounds like the graphics aren’t quite up to the standard we have come to expect from big releases, but it still sounds like people are liking it over all.
Bionic Commando get some time and the guys like it quite a bit in general, but that love does not transfer over to GRIN’s other recent release Terminator Salvation. The game is apparently fairly horrible and only about 4 hours long, but maybe short is good in this case. In related news, it is rumored that GRIN has recently laid of over 100 employees.
The topic of this week is long-form internet video and with Matt Chandronait on the show there is no better person to be talking about it. The guys also go into a lot of the issues surrounding the layoffs earlier in the year at 1up and they also get into talking about some other outlets including IGN, GameSpot, etc. There are some interesting insights here so defenitely give it a listen. Hopefully Matt will become a more regular member on the podcast.
This week the regular crew of Tyler, Arthur and myself are joined by Area5.tv’s Matt Chandronait. We discuss what we’ve been playing, the importance of video in games coverage (and how it’s changed over the years), and conclude with your letters.
We’ll be doing special broadcasts — i.e. short — from E3 when we find the time, so pay attention to our twitter feeds and eat-sleep-game.com to get the latest updates.
We are also still finalizing when we’re going to do our E3 meetup, and I’ll be sending out a group email soon to those who have written to me.
